Much of todays world has transitioned life into the digital realm, weather it be through social media, remote work, zoom/teams/Google meet. The Western world functions largely on the internet in some type of way, todayâs generation of children have grown up with iPadâs, Tablets, iPhones, etc. Technology is what resonates with majority of kids these days, therefore there certainly is a place for it in our classrooms teaching these kids. The beautiful thing is that you can move education online, learning mathematics, writing, etc., there are fantastic resources these days online for teachers to utilize to teacher their students. My education class got a presentation from Science World that discussed âMath and Computational Thinkingâ and âUnplugged Codingâ. These presentations were awesome, and as a future teacher the material and activities that were provided through science world were so valuable and engaging. As a class we went through doing some of the activities and they made math kind of fun, while still helping me to refresh my math skills. I really do think that with the students and generation of kids we will be working with as teachers, they will be more engaged in a digital lesson as opposed to a lesson coming out of a textbook. There are so many digital resources out there for us as future teachers, I really do think we are quite lucky to have access to so much in our road to becoming teachers. I have provided some teacher resources link below that I have come across online, resources I am confident I will use as a teacher, and I hope other teachers coming across this page may utilize as well.
